Hello. I’m a wordsmith on a mission to tell fresh stories.
Cincinnati-born and D.C.-based, I’m a savvy writer, editor, and social strategist. I’ve spent the last six years building content for K-12 and higher education audiences.
In my writing endeavors for a variety of publications, I’ve discovered why universities recruit students with Snapchat and how "unconferences" empower educators. I've met a 10-year-old female wrestling champion and sampled perfect crème brûlée made by high schoolers.
Before moving to D.C., I spent a year as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Maine, leading after-school book clubs for girls. I used literature as a springboard for discussions on peer pressure and finding confidence. There I realized the transformative power of sharing stories.
In my spare time, I encourage the 14-year-old I mentor (through the SOHO - A Space of Her Own program) to be the star protagonist of her life story. Her career aspirations, at this point, include being a caterer, a ghost hunter, or Alicia Keys.
Take a peek at my résumé for more on my background and let's be in touch.
